Thanks Ekkehart and Jürgen. I must have been on beta 2, because I
checked View->Toolbars and had Math (on auto) but no entry for Math
panel. I just installed (or reinstalled?) beta 3, and now I have both
too

All told, I'm ok with replacing the math panel with menu entries, drop
down lists, tool buttons, whatever. In 1.5.0beta3, I can find how to
insert delimiters (and a variety of other stuff), but where did the
arrows and other symbols g
