Of course, he might also need to run BibTeX, etc, all of which is more
difficult on Windows, is it not? But getting TeXStudio might make it all
fairly easy.

Since you already have the LaTeX file, you could just run "pdflatex 
" in a command window. You might need to run it two or three 
consecutive times to get cross-references and citations correct.

I highly recommend to come up with an MWE from your original LyX file. That 
will help you identify the error, if you move in a step-by-step manner...

Do you see messages in the View>Messages panel ?

I would advise to update to LyX 2.3.3 if you can. There have been 
improvements in the LaTeX>LyX converter.
