FYI I have just compiled the new 1.6 on a Debian Lenny system and it went flawlessly. # apt-get build-dep lyx Then the usual ./configure, make, make install. It looks great! Thanks to all concerned. Alan

For those looking for an easy way to port between releases of ubuntu and debian, try looking into pbuilder. It's a nice set of scripts that creates a build environment in which it installs all the build-deps, then builds the package in that. The resulting binary packages can then be installed into
