Were you running it under iOS or Linux?
  Or perhaps the use of Rosetta implies iOS?

I am interested in an M1 laptop, but only if I could run Linux on it.

I’ve tried LyX-2.3.6.2 with Qt-5.12.9. I cannot see any problem until now. It 
works.

But there is at least one report for a problem with the presentation of file 
names in tabs.
I cannot reproduce it myself.


So you cannot reproduce the invisible title on tabs on macOS Big Sur? 
That's interesting. Might be worth adding this information to 
https://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/12110.
