Hello again,

I just discovered that I can display bold code listings in my *.pdf document by selecting Courier as the Typewriter font in Settings.

Thanks all for help.

Hello,

Responding to Scott's suggestion, I've attached *.lyx and *.pdf files that illustrate what we're trying to accomplish.

As you can see, the computer code marked as bold displays correctly in the lyx editor, but does not display as bold in the *.pdf file.

I understand that this is because bold face is not available in the default monospace font family.

My web research suggests that lyx on XeTex or LuaTex would enable me to select a more appropriate font family. But I hesitate for two reasons:

1. Replacing my LaTex system sounds like major surgery with unknown consequences

2. I fear that it might be incompatible with our current book-length *.lyx file

So, I'm hoping that someone can show us an easier way to incorporate a monospace font family that includes bold face.

Many thanks,

Lloyd
