In my jed editor, it is the user-settable varible USE_TABS DESCRIPTION If `USE_TABS' is non-zero, the editor may use tab characters when creating whitespace. If the value of this variable is zero, no tabs will be used. As jed is sometimes described as an emacs clone, I expect something similar in emacs. OTOH, it would be nice, if LaTeX tolerated TABs in the *.bib file Guenter -- G.Milde at physik.tu-dresden.de
