Thanks. An additional question: what about LyX support for "parallel"
and the more recent packages of this family, as "pdfcolparallel"? They
seem to be well supported by Heiko Oberdiek.

no. you might want to look at bug #4221.

Dear Experts,
as many among you know, the package 'ledpar', written by Peter Wilson,
makes possible the typesetting of books with a facing translation or a
facing commentary, e.g. odd pages English text -- even pages French
translation.
My questions are:
(*) is there any support for this package in LyX?
(*) if not, can you suggest any other suitable solution for this kind of
texts in LyX?
(*) same questions for parallel texts in columns and not in facing
pages.
