It looks like there's a bug in the Windows installers of Ghostscript 8.63/8.64. I copied the new files for the installer from the Ghostcript directory, but apparently some of them are missing there. I'll get the files from the Ghostscript source code instead and will update the installers. Joost

Regards Joost I can reproduce (also with 1.6.2). When starting with "LyXLauncher -dbg files", I get the attached log. And the images are not shown. When running lyx.exe from the command prompt, the output is the same up to and silent afterwards. Then the images are correctly shown on screen. It does not bother me so much, since the pdf-output works just fine. And when re-opening Lyx the figures are there again. Cheers -Ralf
Problem with LyxLauncher
Users/developers, I have recently installed version 1.6.3 of Lyx using the standard installer. The installation went smoothly. I have installed on a Windows XP machine, and on a Windows Vista (32 bit) machine. However, I seem to have one problem. If I open my files using the standard double click technique the figures will not open. I get the error: Error converting to loadable format. The figures are EPS, and they all work with version 1.6.1 (which was the last version I used). This problem did not occur in 1.6.1. However, if I open lyx from a command window by using lyx.exe, and then open the files then the diagrams render OK. I have encountered this problem on three different machines, so I am fairly sure that it is not a machine configuration problem. So in short the work around is to change the opening association to lyx.exe and always get a console window. Questions: Has anyone had trouble with this? Is there a fix? Thanks in advance for any help.
