That looks like it. I was running klipper and on turning it off the problem
seems to go away. I had actions disabled in klipper but still it was meddling
with lyx. For now the moral is, kill klipper and then run lyx.
I will test the spellcheck without klipper for sometime though, lets hope the
problem is solved.

cheers

Ah, hold on, are you running xclipboard, klipper or the equivalent ?
Turn it off. Something is telling us it's taken the selection from us.

I'm not sure why you are seeing things get deselected randomly after
some time, we certainly don't have any code that does that. And I can't
reproduce anything like it.

This serves as a perfect example to the bug i am facing too ;)
Going by the same steps. Once the 'aer' is selected, if i dont click on the
right choice 'ear' within a second the word 'aer' is deselected and cursor
comes to the right of 'aer'. However this does not happen with 'tiday'. Here
are the steps.
1. Write the text Youor aer ache tiday?
2. Go to the start of the word and hit F7
3. Replace the first word with 'Your'
4. Sit for some time with the word 'aer' selected , it will get deselected in
a second
5. Click on replace and 'ear' is appended to 'aer'

While on the topic of spellcheck bugs:

Win32 XP pro Qt Lyx

This is a small annoyance with the spell checker:

Open a new file and enter four mistyped words that will give more than
one possible alternative. I'm using an English library so I've typed

"Youor aer ache tiday?"

Place cursor in front of "youor" and start the spellchecker

The first word is correctly found and can be replaced
However, the second word at the top of the list is "ear". You cannot now
click on this and replace directly. You need to click on any other in
the list and then click back on "ear" to get it to be placed into the
replace window.
And so on with the next wrong word etc.

Sorry for lengthy route - Its far easier and quicker to see this
happening in Lyx than to try and describe it.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Spellcheck Bug

2003-09-01 Thread Rajil Saraswat
Hi All
I am using Lyx 1.3.2 QT under gentoo linux. There is a serious spellcheck
problem i am facing. The spellcheck(using aspell) is working fine, it is able
to point out the wrong spellings, however the problem comes in replacing the
wrong word. Once the incorrect spelling is identified, if i dont click the
replace button immediately, the highlighted spelling is de-highlighted and
the cursor goes to the end of the word. on clicking replace now, the correct
word is appended to the wrong spelling!!. However this behaviour does not
happen everytime, but only sometimes.
Is this a bug?

Thanks
Rajil
