Dear Christoph,
I had the very same problem and I have already signaled it as a bug in 
the LyX forum.

When you use multirow, some borders disapper.
You can solve by using the old command \multirow as I show in the 
attached file (you must also put \usepackage{multirow} in the preamble).
Instead, when you do not have borders, you can use the multirow botton 
in LyX.

put the cursor in the specific column and click right button.
Than in folder Column/Row choose HAlignment-> Right

than you have to define minipages for this columns.

Table formatting

I am having a hard time tracking down table formatting information from within LyX. 
One of the things I want to do is right justify a series of columns. How do I do this. 
I see an alignment button under the table layout menu, but it is greyed out.

The other thing I would like to do is to have my vertical alignment along the bottom 
of a row instead of the top. How does one do this? Is this in the manuals, and I just 
missed it? Is there any documentation on adjusting the table layout?
