Text in table is all boldface

2008-04-01 Thread Geevarghese Philip

Hi,

I am using Lyx 1.5.4, and all text that I put in any table turns up
as boldface in the dvi/pdf output. See the attached file. How do I make
this text to appear as normal fonts, except for the first row where I do
want the text to appear as bold?

Thanks,
Philip

The table is part of a description environment. Set the enclosing paragraph
to Standard.

I suspect this was an accident, but you put the table in a Description
environment. Description is a type of list in which the first word
(everything up to the first breakable space) is in bold. In this case,
LaTeX treats the table as a single word, so the entire thing was in bold.

The solution is to (a) change the environment the table sits in to
standard and then (b) highlight the first row and use the text style
dialog to change it to bold. I'm attaching a modified copy.
