Re: Where to download teTeX - 1.07

2001-04-01 Thread Stephen Liu

Hi George,

Thanks for your advice. I found it on the CD finally. But I still could
not start LyX after installation.  I did following steps;

rpm -ivh

ed-0.2-21mdk.i586.rpm
dialog-0.6-10mdk.i586.rpm
locales-he-2.3-10mdk.noarch.rpm
tetex-1.07-11mdk.i586.rpm
tetex-dvilj-1.0.7-11mdk.i586.rpm
tetex-dvips-1.0.7-11mdk.i586.rpm
tetex-latex-1.0.7-11mdk.i586.rpm
tetex-xdvi-1.0.7-11mdk.i586.rpm
tetex-latex-heb-1.0-3mdk.noarch.rpm

In Xterm Window

type lyx
[1] 1345
bash: lyx:command not found
[1]+ Exit 127

Neither I can find LyX under Office submenu nor under Application --
Publishing. Even re-start the PC.

Could you throw me some light. Thanks in advance.

That means that it is not in your "path", the list of directories where Linux
looks for the programs you run at the command line, or it is still not
installed. I notice that in the list of stuff you installed, there is no LyX.

Have you gone into DrakConf and started the Package Manager (rpmdrake)? Try
looking in the Office folder in there and see if LyX is installed? Check

Hi all people,

Mandrake 7.2

I am going to install LyX because I could not find it under 'Office'

From the source disc (Disc 2), I tried to RPM

tetex-afm-1.07-11mdk.i586.rpm
tetex-latex-heb-1.0-3mdk.i586.rpm

it required the installation of the file teTex-1.07. Kindly advise from
