Robin, I am one of the more active members of the LyX documentation team. If no one from the core development team has responded to your request, let me know and I'll provide whatever information you need. Thanks for your interest in adding LyX. faq response to question "can i use tex wysiwyg?"
i maintain the uk tex users' group faq, and i reckon it's about time it made mention of lyx and similar things. (the question typically asked is that in the subject line above, but we need not worry about fine details ... the faq is supposed to be pragmatic ;-) would anyone on this list (perhaps one of the lyx development team?) care to offer some text for me to start with? the reason i ask is i'm not a lyx user myself, but would nevertheless like to offer good advice to users of the faq. the thing is currently to be found in http://www.tex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/texfaq2html?introduction=yes i'ld be adding the proposed question in the section on support packages. note: i'm not currently subscribed to this list, so shan't see answers unless they're explicitly cc'ed to me. i shan't be offended if no-one does so, but then i shan't be able to add mention of lyx to the faq either. robin fairbairns
