float algorithm
Hello forum, I am trying to insert float algorithm into the report I am writing. I did the following: 1. Insert->Float->Algorithm 2. Inside Algorithm I inserted program listing 3. Wrote down the procedure. When I generate the pdf , the algorithm is over-lapping the page number . Is it possible to break the algorithm automatically once it cannot be fit into one page and continue to the next page ? The issue can be seen in the following link : http://i.imgur.com/P02CjO8.png As you can see page number 47 in the middle of the algorithm. Any idea to get rid of this issue ? Thanks
Re: float algorithm
Hello forum, I think I found kind of a solution to the issue. Instead of having program listing inside floating algorithm , I am having just the program listing and now the code snippets are split automatically. But I am encountering another issue. How do I enter some kind of caption to the program listing I have just added, so that it gets listed into the list of algorithms at the beginning of the report. A better suggestion is expected than the one described. Insert-Float-Algorithm is missing!
Hello all,I have two versions of Lyx simultaneously: Lyx 2.0.4 and Lyx 2.1.1 under Windows 7.Neigher of them has menu option to insert an algorithm - if I go to Insert-Float there is no option to insert an algorithm! Please tell what to do, because visualising algorithms is a very convenient feature. Best wishes,Victor.

This repository was put in place by Fedora texlive maintainer and the repository is a backport. For Fedora 18 (to be released in January) and newer the packages there are the default. -- José Matos
RE: Insert->Float->Algorithm results in Latex errors
Hi, Updating memoir helped, it works now like a charme. Thanks a lot! I wonder however, how can Fedora distribute packages *that* old. Thx, Regi

Glad to know there are updated packages for F17 available, too. Thanks for letting me know and for helping me with the memoir issue. - Reggi
Indentation in float algorithm environment.
Dear All, I have a question on indentation in the float algorithm environment. I noticed that the typesetting of algorithm in LyX does not include indentation and I could not insert 'Tab' into my typed algorithm. However, the 'algorithm' package for LaTeX does automatically indent for you when you use flow-control structures. Does the algorithm environment in LyX has any relation with 'algorithm' package for LaTeX? Currently, the only indentation I can do is to manually type multiple Ctl-Space to make my algorithm looks better. But this is inefficient and ugly. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thx in advance! Regards, Yufei __ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca
