Please send your suggestions :) If you're using endnotes RATHER THAN footnotes, there is a much easier system. If you want to use endnotes as well as footnotes, then please post a minimal example of what you're trying to do. This should work. By the way, 1.6 has support for endnotes, both instead of and as well as footnotes. rh

use \cite{reference} within the ert. Also, depending upon the
bibliography style and packages installed you can use things like
\citename{reference}, \citeyear{reference}.
