Thanks for the info Karsten. Truly impressive package.. was really
kicked to see that I can include eps figures and get a pdf out of it
using dvips and ps2pdf.. plus the hyperlinked table of contents at
the top is very cool..

Dear Karsten, dear readers of this list,
thank you for this valuable hint! I was not aware of the beamer class, it
seems to be a very powerful tool to create presentations.
However, after a first try I was not able to use the Latin Modern fonts (by
including the command \usepackage{lmodern} in the preamble - there are font
substitutions with Computer Modern fonts then) in conjunction with the beamer

Thanks a lot for the hint again and for comments on the problem

latex-beamer.sf.net contains a lyx subdir with all relevant files

I've created a page here:

I've also invited the author to add more information to that page, but
anyone who likes to can of course upload layout files etc. Or for that

No success.
run texhash?
if yes, then
run
/usr/local/share/lyx/configure

and look for lines like

+checking for document class IEEEtran [IEEEtran]... yes
+checking for document class aa [aa]... no
+checking for document class aapaper [aa]... no
+checking for document class aastex [aastex]... yes
+checking for document class agums [aguplus,agums.sty]... no
...
is beamer found?

I ran configure and, after that, the document class beamer was included
in the document class list of LyX. Thank you very much indeed, Herbert!
