multiple authors
I am not sure how to use multiple authors in a KOMA book going through https://wiki.lyx.org/FAQ/MultipleAuthors I wasn't sure what to choose and I have the impression it is a bit outdated. Could somebody give me an advice? Re: sr-vorl.layout for Springer books > Was: Re: multiple authors: cite only 3
I have changed the subject, since it is a different topic. The multiple author question is easily solved with a biblatex setting. Therefore a svvorl.layout for writing a book for the Springer publisher set for biblatex would be the correct one for me. But I think I could manage that, if only one with bibtex is available Wolfgang I copied the last mail of Kornel to get it in the new thread sr-vorl.layout for Springer books Don't know about svvorl.layout. But I have a sr-vorl.layout here, maybe it is what you want. It is built over the class sr-vorl.cls Kornel Yes, Kornel, thats the reason I posted another mail. Sorry for it, and sr-vorl.layout is, what I need. I would appreciate, if you could send it. If I get an answer from Springer, I will notify the Lyx User group. Yours, Wolfgang File->New Document->Settings...->Document class->Springer sr-vorl Document->Settings...->Formats->Default output format->PDF (pdflatex) With the above settings you should be able to edit a new template lyx file. Kornel Thanks for sending the layout file. I am afraid it takes a while until I manage to handle it. Wolfgang

Query... adding multiple authors names to TOC
Dear all: I want to add the contributory writers' names to the table-of-contents of an anthology where almost every chapter is written by a different author. Is that possible, without including the names in the chapter title itself? If so, how? It should read GOANS AND THE PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE ... ... Alfred F. Braganza ... 147 Many thanks! Would appreciate a cc of your reply to me! FN -- Frederick Noronha Columnist :: journalism :: editing :: alt.publishing :: photography :: blogging

natbib APA references for multiple authors
When there are two or more authors on a paper and the reference is withing brackets, the APA guidelines are that it should be (Linehan Linehan, 2008). Its doing this, which is good. However, when the authors are outside the brackets it should be Linehan and Linehan (2008). The '' sign should never be used outside of brackets. So natbib should be doing this: \citet*{jon90} Jones, Baker, and Williams (1990) \citep*{jon90} (Jones, Baker, Williams, 1990) Is this something I can modify in a .bst file. Could anyone help me with this? Im using this natbib compatible .bst file (http://www.dsg.cs.tcd.ie/~linehane/lyx/apa-good.bst). The way natbib works, it writes things like this: \bibitem[Author Names(Year)]{key} to the .aux file, where they are picked up by LaTeX. At this point, natbib knows nothing about how anything will be cited. What might work, though, would be to re-write the \citet and \citet* commands to replace the '' with 'and' if it's there. But I'm not at all sure how to do that. I can think of other ways to do this, too, but they're all pretty complicated. Richard

Re: multiple authors (\and) is ert necessary
Tim, I guess what Micha means is if you need to use \and in ERT to separate authors in the author environment of a document. The answer, AFAIK, is that it depends on the class. I think that if you have multiple authors, the best approach is to use a full ERT first page where you include the title, authors, addresses, abstract and keywords. Hope this helps. It means that those things are hardcoded in the bibtex stylefile, which is independent from the language settings in the document. There are two other options besides editing the stylefile, though: 1. Search for a french stylefile on CTAN (www.ctan.org) 2. Create your own stylefile with custom-bib (which is most likely part of your latex installation): http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/supported/custom-bib/ Regards, Juergen.

You could edit the .bst file, in your case it wouldn't be too difficult. For example if you're using "plain.bst" make a local copy in the same dir as your document. Name it "myplain.bst". Then search for "FUNCTION {format.names}" In the next couple of lines you should find the text " and " (quotes included). Just change that to " et ". Where you include the bibliography style change "plain" to "myplain". HTH, Roberto

A certainly mostly bibtex oriented question... from a newbie who is lost in the docs [lyx-1.1.6fix4 swith debian woody] How do you do to have, in a bibtex entry with multiple authors, the and replaced by a et (in french) in the typo? ex: author = {Beltran, Alain and Franck, Robert and Rousso, Henry}, becomes: [Beltran et al.] Alain Beltran, Robert Franck and Henry Rousso, ... * and i would like: [Beltran et al.] Alain Beltran, Robert Franck et Henry Rousso, ... It seems not to be enough: * Language options of the doc are francais * \usepackage[french]{babel} at the beginning of the bibtex file Maybe a little ERT like \renewcommand, but what exactly? And tell me if i'm not wrong: i HAVE TO use and (and not et or whatever) for bibtex to recognize the entry as a multi-author one? Thanks for help. -- Fabrice FT
