article.layout

You can inspect the file ttctexa.cls and see that it loads article.cls

PStricks in LyX

2013-04-13 Thread Wolfgang Engelmann
Has somebody successfully used PStricks in LyX?

I am trying to plot a map of Europe with the PST-Geo
and installed the TeX code of an example.
The error is:
File `ttctexa.cls' not found.

This file is, however, in
/texlive/2012/texmf-dist/doc/latex/tlc2

is it not found, because LyX needs a layout file of it?
Or do I have to set a PATH?

If there is no layout file available, would it be better to use e.g.
LaTeXDraw and a latex file instead of LyX?

Thanks, Jürgen,

but it still does not find it. I have the impression, that texhash is not
using my
home/texlive/2012/

 sudo texhash
texhash: Updating /usr/local/share/texmf/ls-R...
texhash: Updating /var/lib/texmf/ls-R-TEXMFMAIN...
texhash: Updating /var/lib/texmf/ls-R-TEXLIVE...
texhash: Updating /var/lib/texmf/ls-R...
texhash: Done.

strange.

I get the same error if I run the tex-file
LaTeX Error: File `ttctexa.cls' not found

What might be wrong?

I think the problem is how you generate LaTeX output. I don't think
that pstricks works with pdflatex. I think you need to go via ps

It never quite worked for me, but you might try to use LaTeXDraw to
build the pstricks code and generate, say, a PDF image that you could
readily include in your document.

Problem with PSTricks an LYX

2009-03-31 Thread Jorge Mario Garcia
Good morning
My problem is:
I want to use the command

  \readdata{\funcion}{dtos2.txt}

but LYX creates a temporary file where you saved the *. tex, the problem is
that my file dtos2.txt not is in the same folder and lyx generates an
error.

I try to include it as an attachment, but LyX formats are already in place
and do not let me, and shows an error.

Can you help me?

pstricks and lyx question

2007-03-05 Thread Ben White
Hello Lyxers--

I just joined up with Lyx and was wondering if some kind soul might help
me with an issue I am working on. Basically, I have a program that
spits out pstricks decision trees. I turned to lyx as an alternative
means of getting my trees done since my tex abilities are well somewhat
wanting.

When I try to convert the tree to .dvi, pdf, etc. in Lyx, I get multiple
errors.

Would someone be able to help me get started on debugging this beast?
Attached is the pstricks file.

The numerous errors I get in Lyx lead me to think something may be a wee
bit amiss.

Many thanks,

pstricks and lyx question

There is also pgf (I think its a part of beamer) that works with both ps and

it is 5% of PSTricks ...

I agree with Herbert. Furthermore, PSTricks easily and perfectly
produce pdf output as long as one uses the package ps4pdf.

Rich,

Indeed, PSTricks can be used within LyX and PSTricks is very powerful
with creating figures and plots for use in LaTeX documents and beamer.
I do not know about any HOWTO for LyX users, but the following site
has quite a lot of examples:

http://www.pstricks.de/

Try to start off with implementing one of the simplest examples there
with LyX and you will end up, after a short time, able to use PSTricks
within LyX. There is also a mailing list for PSTricks. I can send you
an example of a LyX file with a PSTricks figure, in case you want it.

I compile beamer with pdflatex (much faster than latex+ps2pdf).
Does pdftricks provide similar functionalities ?

To get pdf output, the best solution seems to be using ps4pdf (please,
notice that I wrote ps4pdf and not ps2pdf). You can get more

I can send you an example of a LyX file with a PSTricks figure, in case
   you want it.

How about putting the example .lyx-file on the wiki? I've prepared a
page with an 'attach'-link, so you can just upload it here

  http://wiki.lyx.org/Examples/PSTricks

I will do it very soon, Christian.

Done!

Regards,

Paul

Jean-Pierre,

To get pdf output, the best solution seems to be using ps4pdf (please,
notice that I wrote ps4pdf and not ps2pdf). You can get more
information at:

How about putting the example .lyx-file on the wiki? I've prepared a
page with an 'attach'-link, so you can just upload it here

Using Pstricks Within LyX

2005-02-08 Thread Rich Shepard
From reading the pstricks manual I learn that it will do a great job of
creating figures and plots for use in LaTeX documents and beamer
presentations. Can it be used within LyX? Is there a HOWTO I could read?
Thanks,
Rich
