Just to tell you that all is OK, now. I was misled by what I believe to be a mistake in the LyX documentation. The file Customization, Ch. 3, refers to a file labelled as /UseDir/lyxrc. In fact I noticed that normally option files are in hidden dirs, so I tried .lyx/lyxrc, and it works now. I
