Ctrl + Tab works, at least in 1.6.5 running in slackware linux (Vector
Linux 6.0 standard. Thanks! I have been using lyx for years but did
not know how to do this. Looks like I would have made a type and
discovered it on my own.

Indexing works fine in a new lyx document, but errors out if I have the
pleading paper styles in the LaTeX preamble.
Anyone have a clue how to get lyx to do both?

which she has a pleading paper template (perhaps she made it). She has

reasons which escape me, many of those folks find it hard to wean themselves
