I know the purists think a horizontal scrollbar is somehow impure but can we
please please get one. It is not currently possible to:-
1) Write long equation sequences inline in a proof when you want to keep
the proof short and not taking up multiple lines.
2) Do xypic diagrams with
When I use Copy, either via Ctl-C or the menu, it works because I can use the
menu item Paste Recent to paste what I copied. However Paste, as in Ctl-V
or the menu item, don't work and the menu item is greyed out. This problem has
only started in the last few weeks, everything was fine before

I use the svmono class from Springer-Verlag and it works fine, I got a layout
file from another LyX user via one of the official LyX forums. I have attached
the layout file. For some inexplicable reason I get a compile error when I try
to use the Notation environment, even though it is

I am a reasonably experienced LyX user. I have installed MiKTex 2.4 and LyX 1.6
on a new laptop running Windows XP with SP3. LyX works perfectly on my old
laptop which is identical. When I install LyX it installs smoothly except it
cannot find the aspell6-en dictionary so I have to skip

1.6.6.1. I have followed the instructions in the Using XY-pic in LyX by H.

Often you want to write a list of separate definitions or examples in sequence
in a document, but Lyx wants to combine them together. What special character
or trick do you use to keep them separate?

Hi Michael, which drop list, the only one that says anything about a separator
is “Menu Separator” and that doesn’t work.

Thanks, I will do that if I can't get the Adobe one working, prefer to have
only one pdf viewer if I can.
