Hi,
I'm a new user of lyx, intending to use it with bibtex for a phd
thesis (moving from openoffice writer).
I thought I'd create a jabber room for real time communication:

Readers,
I am trying to create a custom bibtex style file, using the merlin.mbs
function. When I try to preview the lyx document in the di viewer I
get an error about the latex run, furthermore stating I should try to
fix them.
How do I find out what were the errors in the first instance?
Below is the log file for the attempt to create a new bibtex file.

In writer I can format text with a style and in turn edit that style,
e.g. format the text into title case.
How do I change the 'section' style, for example to have italicised text?

Readers,
Using version 200 but unable to change the heading text 'abstract'.
Any help please?
Readers,
Previously, was a user of latex in gnu/linux, now using lyx200 in m$.
In the document setting dialogue window, only three style files are
shown. How is it possible to add more style files?
In the lyx web page 'bibtex tips', the instruction to use natbib
starts with the option
In the document settings you select the citation engine
(default/natbib/jurabib).
How to use a different engine, for example to use another style such
as author-date.
Does this mean that it is not possible to use a style that is not
compatible with default, natbib or jurabib engines?
Neither of these engines are compatible with author-date style
(http://www.ctan.org/pkg/authordate), causing error message (undefined
controlled sequence).
Readers,
It does not seem possible to be able to apply find and replace to a
selection of text. Is this a bug or a feature request?
lyx200
Readers,
Despite instructions in the web page 'bibtex tips', have not been able
to change the bibliography section name even changing the document
class and changing the 'renewcommand' appropriately from 'refname' to
'bibname'.
Is there a way to remove the section name?
lyx 200
Programmers,
This is a request to allow lyx to open multiple files from the files

Readers,
Is it possible to select an acronym e.g. ABC and replace all copies in
a document with the latex code \textsc{abc}?
Thanks
