I have had this in a fairly small way in Lyx but also in Libre Office. Tracked it down to the Clipboard History, when I had been editing. When scrolling through Mouse Scroll wheel was occasionally pasting text from the Clipboard. Possibly me being too heavy on the scroll? Maybe not

Thanks Liviu, Your reply confirms my thinking that Beamer would need to be integrated into a recording system. I worked in this field years ago, when we made graphics by pasting symbols on to a background, or drew them by hand. Presentations were a sequence of 35mm

Sorting in Lyx

Does Lyx have the ability to sort strings? I am working with some relatively large text files, over 200 lines in some cases. I have been working in Linux which can do a line by line sort but runs into problems when a string is longer than a single line. Thanks, Gordon.

The nearest thing I have had to your problem was the computer running out of memory during calculations. It was a software issue where the program was using blocks of virtual memory on the hard drive, but forgetting to release them. It was not Lyx, but a Windows based CAD application.
