How colud I fix it? Hi This is a feature of the spanish babel package you are using. If babel does this then I assume that daggers are not in use in spanish typography, so I would leave it that way. Or you could copy the original definition of @fnsymbol (see e.g. https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/78223/87201) into your preamble (maybe inside an \AtBeginDocument command).
