Hi Jürgen, hi Philip, in openSUSE Leap 42.2 I've tried countless times to produce PDF outputs with both, classicthesis-Lyx-v4.2_biblatex-biber and classicthesis-Lyx-v4.2_biblatex-bibtex8 but always ended up in endless loops. After two weeks I tried openSUSE Leap 42.2 once more last night

Philip, Document > 'LaTex log' is greyed out, so I can't check. Unless the first line you see there is something like [0] Config.pm:354> INFO - This is Biber 2.6 you don't have biber installed, or the installation is corrupt. What happens when you type biber -v in a linux terminal window?

I was able to run the biber version of ClassicThesis on my laptop with Kubuntu successfully. Since I will use this for my talk, I am set for the time being. I might try later to get it working on may PC with Debian. Thanks all who helped me. Wolfgang
