WiFi adds an extra element to the problem because unlike
one-character-at-a-time RS232 the data is in uninterruptible packets; when
the M100 sends an XOFF to stop sending, the other end doesn't respond until
it's finished sending the current packet and since the M100 doesn't send
the XOFF until
Yes, but I will try it again at 600 baud of that is the max TELCOM can do
with the screen.

I am using Arcanbyte which ties in to my Wi-Fi so no copper. I did change
both sides to XON/XOFF but I haven't tried 600 baud yet.

Well, I hope you can fix that M102 board, would be shame to throw it away.
However I did overheat that socket...

That sounds like an insult to me.
Sorry if I offended anyone.
I forget that there are kinds of people on this board, maybe some flat earthers
too!
Enough said, I will leave it there.

OK, sorry – but I do not think I was name calling, just using an appropriate

I hope you warn him too about posting provocative comments that do not belong

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for typing exactly what I felt.
I love our small Model 100 community - It was literally my first computer
that I brought with my own money. Actually, I think that I will share my
story as long as nobody minds.
It was probably sometime around 1983. I spent much of my life,

Yeah, the idea is interesting, but the keyboard could be a bit larger.
Still, those automotive LCDs hold a lot of potential for modern slabtop
computer designs, and I'm considering building something similar, myself.
I've even been thinking about building a modern M100 style OS that has the

I like the *concept*, but the idea of trying to get anything done on a
keyboard where all the numbers and most of the punctuation have been
moved to shifted
No, it's a leftist cause. It is the left who have promoted the nonsense that
the Earth is in danger... from Man. Specifically, from western civilization.
For political purposes.

What John said was your definitive answer.
You simply can't actually go any faster than 600 *reliably*, in TELCOM
with the screen active. It doesn't matter that telcom/basic allow
setting higher speeds.
Even with xon/xoff, when the 100 says "stop sending!", by the time the
xoff byte
I have XON/XOFF set but it is still getting garbled.
