With the last couple of type-ins I've done, I just took archive.org's existing

I make my own cables.

and a capacitor. This effectively attenuates the signal to that of a 'condenser

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Nice. Did you make your own cable or buy a premade one?

just about any audio recording device will work. However.
some common problems are associated with recording a program (output of the
computer). Ideally, the recorder should have a LINE INPUT for this. An AUX
INPUT will usually do, but there will be an impedance mismatch when using a MIC

I was looking at some of the books people have listed here recently, and some
of the type-in programs are interesting.
If you remember the old days of typing in programs from the back of magazines,
you remember that it could be very tedious, which is why there were lots of
utilities to help

Has anyone recently done tape stuff? What's your setup? I have a
Califone 3230 AV recorder with motor control, aux etc. Will that work,
or would I need a Radio Shack branded setup?
Thanks,

Cool. I saw a cap kit, I'll be on the lookout for a nicd replacement.

The generally accepted wisdom seems to be that when doing intake of a "new" 100
to replace the NiCd and all capacitors ASAP. They risks to the
Given that my new m100 is 39 years old, should I expect that parts need
replacing inside? Everything looks fine on the motherboard, but, I
wonder about the backup power source and capacitors. Now that I have it
and it's working, I think I'd like to keep it around.
Thanks,
