i posted off the other day. Hopefully in a few weeks, i'll know whether my
M100 is faulty or plain incompatible with the REX module.

Replacing the internal modem with a Bluetooth module would be my first
choice. There's not all that much utility to a 300 baud modem with an
acoustic coupler these days.
