It’s probably working then. It’s hard coded for one baud rate, maybe it’s not matching or not compatible with that device. What baud rate do you want, I’ll build you a new one. — John.

Then that would explain my problem. OK, so I'm trying HTERM out. I picked up a copy of it from here: http://bitchin100.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTERM#Loading_HTERM and followed the install instructions. I don't get any "beep" when running HTERM.CO, but I just get an empty screen and have to hit
