Randy,

I was at CircleCityCon this past weekend, a hacker conference at the Westin
in downtown Indy.

Why not a retrocomputing village there? We have enough people and Tandys,
and there's enough retrocomputing enthusiasts there.

Have a great week!

TASM. Should I go ahead and sign up for a M100 exhibit? I just don't want

I will do my best to come this year. I grew up just up the road from
Springfield in Champaign county so it will also be an excuse to go home to
visit family.

I splurged a few weeks ago and picked up that Microcolor unit on eBay. It will
be a few more weeks before I can get to it but I would love to get it working
and bring it to show.

I attended TASM last year and it was excellent! Got to meet a bunch of cool
people (Hi Peter!) and play with some cool machines.

This year I've arranged to give a Friday talk on Model 100-family
troubleshooting and repairs, covering how to diagnose simple(ish) issues with
the M100s and how to repair and possibly upgrade the machines. This hasn't been
officially announced or scheduled by TASM yet but I'm pretty certain it's
happening.

I would love to make this a collaborative effort and incorporate suggestions
from the list. My goal is to get a rough outline together in the next month or
two and then get feedback from folks on it. I'm more than happy to credit
individuals on the list for their input -- my goal is simply to get more
knowledge about the M100 technical details out into the world. Also, if any
list members will be attending the Friday sessions at TASM and want to help
GIVE the presentation, I doubt that the fest committee would mind as long as we
let them know soon so they can add your name to the schedule.

Finally, I would, once again, like to collaborate on an M100 display/exhibit.
Last year Randy, Peter Noeth, and I contributed displays to an M100-fam exhibit
and it was very popular. I plan to show games and application demos running on
100,102,200, and NEC-8201a, plus a Tandy WP-2 hopefully connected to a wifi
Modem and BBS if I can manage the connectivity. I'd love to have other Kyocera
machines shown (M-10, anybody?) as well as peripherals like DVI, TPDD, etc.
I'll have a REX demo and maybe even REXes to sell (depends on my schedule if I
can build a batch). If anybody wants to collaborate on the display -- or if
anybody already has a M100 display planned for TASM -- please let me know (I
haven't registered an exhibit yet).

Thanks to Randy and the entire TASM committee for putting on this great show!
Hope to meet more Model-Ters there this year.

But I went back and looked, found them, and ordered a few.

You're right they look perfect for this, thanks for turning them up. It's
exactly the answer to the question I first posted.
