Re: [M100] Needing a tech
I don't see why not. I'll see about putting together a kit on arcadeshopper.com I'm setting up a m100 area and will be carrying some products Greg On Fri, Mar 2, 2018 at 9:16 AM, megaratwrote: > In this vein, is it possible to get a cap kit for the M100, or at least a > shopping list? In this vein, is it possible to get a cap kit for the M100, or at least a shopping list? This is the right age for the electrolytics to go bad on these things, and while the three M100s in my stable are working fine at the moment, I'd like to get ahead of any problems, or at least be prepared for them. Of course, I can consult the service manual and assemble a list from there, but I was wondering if someone had already done the work. Thanks, /CAM
Re: [M100] Needing a tech
Hi. My name is Jerry Novak. I have a 'non working' M100 also. The display doesn't work. I did find on line an article about replacing a couple of electrolytic capacitors in the display chain of things. It must be a fairly common thing on the M100s. These two capacitors dry out and your display at first fades in and out and then doesn't work anymore. When I get a chance, I will be replacing them. It's unfortunate that there are no electronics parts houses in my area. I don't know if this is your problem or not. When I find the link for the article again, I can send the link if you so desire. I am looking forward to getting it working again as, well, I can do a lot with PCs but '80s vintage computers are more fun to play with for sure. Jerry
