Thanks John,
I was afraid of that. Creating a secure connection would be nice but it looks
like it's not in the cards at this point.

Does anyone know if WiModem232 supports ssh or ssl? I've been working with Gary
Weber to get mComm supporting TCP connection so far I've got it working with
Telnet connections, but it would be nice to add a layer of security for some
off site connections.

Well if you’re directly connected via serial or Bluetooth to an a android
machine then you can probably just run the login / shell on the port with
no middle man.
But if you want to telnet into a shell on the android unit over WiFi then
socat would come in handy.

I just noticed that Termux (a good Linux command-line environment) on
Android supports 'socat'. I think it would be cool to have a good Linux
environment accessible through your M100 via your phone. There are lots of
packages in there to play with, but using it on the Android screen is

It does. In fact, to get higher baud rates (anything higher than 300 baud)
to work I needed to enable hardware flow control on the Wimodem232 and use

Not sure. It's whatever is installed in my REX. It reports as version 4.00
but I'm not sure if the version was rev'd when it was

Well I picked up a wimodem232.
I brlefly launched LaddieAlpha and verified it working with

Yeah we’ve had all of this stuff working for a while in one form or
another. It’s nice to see a direct WiFi connection now though.

that is very cool
Network tpdd is insane. It means you can have a file server for M100 in
your basement just like for your modern laptops.

Besides setting the termcap, In order to run W3M and browse the web, I had

I've attached the 19200bps version of HTERM.CO

I got my WiModem232 yesterday and had some time to play with it today.

It should work fine.
Note that there are at least 2 different (but nearly identical in function)
devices. The WIFI232 (http://biosrhythm.com/?page_id=1453) is the device that
has been tested most on various retro platforms. The WiModem232 *should*
operate in much the same way. I have a couple
Hi Jörg,
That should work. I havent used it myself, but I did discuss it with the
designer when he was originally prototyping it, and he said it would work with
the M100.

Dear friends,
I own an NEC PC8300 and I would like to go online, perhaps visit a BBS etc.
Now I stumbled across this:
https://www.cbmstuff.com/proddetail.php?prod=WiModem232OLED
Question: Would this work to get my PC8300 online so I can visit a BBS (like
Nostromo, The Cave, whatever)?
