I think he's overselling it a little bit... but he has some good points. I
think the T's biggest advantage is its instant on nature, which is a lot
like a modern tablet, really.

Yes, you could do it with a Teensy.
The only issue is that the ready made MIDI shiields won't fit on a Teensy,
since the Teensy is a different shape than Arduino. So you'd either need to
figure out the pin assignment or roll your own I/O board.

Actually, now that I think about it, you do NOT need a null modem cable.
you just need a F-F gender changer. The T100 is a DTE device, which means
the TPDD is a DCE. So you don't need a null modem for that.

I did find a hack from the ROM2 manual, which POKES some values into RAM.
The problem is that it's super delicate, and if you turn the computer off
while the values are changed, you can't recover without a cold boot. (Don't
ask how I know that.)

1. Cold booted (I turned the 200's memory switch off before I put it
away.)
2. Started Rex with CALL 61167,2
3. Create a text file TEST.DO
- This is a test
- This is line 2
- This is line 3
4. Created a new backup called "TEST"

I don't see that as an issue at all. It uses its own power supply, just
like the synthesizer will. You can power an Arduino from a 9v wall wart or
a USB power supply. If this needs to be portable, a
submit patches for these things.

Yes. The idea generally is to use these as replacements for a motherboard
that has been physically damaged past the point of easy repair. So a user
SCII BASIC files - the easy way is with the
emulator, VirtualT. It can read and write both formats, making it easy to
convert back and forth.

I wasn't so much thinking of the M100 mode driver... just having the
ability to output the CPM console to the serial port is enough for me.
if it can do that... I'm definitely going to try to find a good T-100 and
