Hi Bryan and list,
Thanks for the tip!! It really did help, though the saga continues.
While investigating my problem I went to system preferences - sound and
apparently selected a different device. As a result sound is no longer emitted
from the speaker or headphones. I get sound output

That's why the list exists; so feel free to ask questions and make comment. You
won't be ridiculed or flamed no matter how basic your questions may be, or
otherwise. This group is populated by people with more maturity than that. Once
again, welcome.

Many thanks for your welcome. A brief introduction might be in order. I'm a

Hi Geoff,
Do you have a test account set up on your MBP that you can log into? You
stated I get sound output through the headphone jack only but as soon as I log
on it stops. Resetting the pran restored my start-up sound, but the problem
persists. Resetting the PRAM as Bryan suggested fixes

Don't worry. iTunes backs up your phone before the update and restores

Hi Michael,
You'll have to get help from some of the users who have tested out other DAISY
reader apps on the iPhone, but the way I think this is supposed to work is that
you create a zipped file of the Daisy book, connect your iPhone, and transfer
the files. But you must use the file format

Since I don't have another account with admin authority or a bootable Lion

Heytell is an iPhone app that is way too cool and feature rich. I use it for
communication with friends an family from all over the world. Look for it on
the iTunes app store. I learned of it last year when I first got my iPhone and
it is just awesome and the devs are good to work with.

Hello listers,
I was just wondering if any of you have upgraded to growl 1.3 for OSX lion? If
so, is it worth it? Are there any significant changes in the new version? I
understand that growl is now a full app and is shareware.
Thanks for any feedback, have a good one.
