Hi all
OK, for another project I need to be able to mix two or more files together.
This is a radio project so the jingle bed needs to be dynamic in terms of
volume. Could somebody plead outline the best way of accomplishing this task
using OS X audio editing software and mixing software?
Hi Phil
if you are able to create an image like this yourself, what would be the point?
You'd be able to create all of the images required.

Firstly, what on earth was the point in a single-word response?
I think Chris has a fair point here. In fact, I can see it both ways. Chris
is obviously quite an advanced user although I don't know what his Mac
experience level is. All the same, I tad to agree with the other Chris, Chris
Hi Sean
I think Lynne is referring to the way the server handles PHP scripting. This
is actually an area where there should be the least problems I would think.
PHP5 which is bundled with OS X 10.8 and 10.7 should work fine.

I still stand by saying if you're looking for quote: the most powerful

it's a bit pricy... ok, it's extremely! ;pricy, but believe me, you won't

Gordon,
If either Josh or myself implied we were wishing this to be discussed on

love to talk to you and others on Skype.
I'm off to get you added to my Skype contacts now. Yesterday was a bit

Hi all,
Just had a conversation on twitter about a device called Stand Scan. I provide
a link below. Has anyone used this? I'd be interested in an opinion because
it looks very good.

I have.
I will comment further later but to be honest on first impression I am
disappointed. Basically a cardboard folder which is constructed into a box.
Quite flimsy and probably not suitable for any robust long term use.
I need to experiment further to see what the scanning results are like.
Ah I see. Wasn't aware it was constructed so flimsily.
As always David thanks for the prompt response.

I'm wondering if a phone holder for the car would work better.

Hello Dónal and David,
You might want to wait for Ann Robertson's comments on sample results from the
StandScan Pro. The StandScan basic model doesn't have sufficient light power
for good results from general scanning. It's designed for inexpensive portable
use with the iPhone (which is why
Hello dónal,
I have the StandScan Pro which has 15 Leds to provide good lighting. Yes, it's
flimsy, but it folds flat, weighs next to nothing, and works great with my
iPhone 5.
I've tested the StandScan Pro with a double-page from a pretty complexe book
using Prizmo in English with brilliant
Hi all,
Still getting to grips with my Macbook pro and wonder if anyone could
help with a couple of issues I have with navigating web pages. I
think I've confused myself with the several ways of accomplishing the
same task. So can anyone suggest a way I can do these two things? I
do have quick
Hello Catherine,
If you're navigating the Web in DOM mode, then with Quick Nav on, just the
right arrow will take you to the next element which probably corresponds to a
line or a sentence. Without Quick Nav, this would be VO-Right Arrow. In Groups
mode, you'd have to interact with the group,
Thanks Anne. I managed to get around the table by interacting with
it. I'm finding it a bit confusing at the moment though because
sometimes I press right arrow and I get the sound which indicates
there's something wrong or there's nowhere to move to, and then I find

Hi,
I wanted to look at different options for the VO voice and changed it
from being Alex to Daniel Compact. But now I'd like to change it back
again and don't seem to have the option. When I get to the voice
setting it says Daniel Compact locked.
At some point I was messing around/looking
Hi all,
I have a .m4b in my dropbox folder which is showing up perfectly on the iPhone.
However I don't seem to be able to (shall I say: export? open? it) with
anything on the device. I assumed that it would just open in the Music app but
seemingly not.
Has anyone found this to be the case
My point was simply create an image once and be done with it. Most get
sighted help for the task.

Hi Phil,
One of the useful Services menu options is Add to iTunes as Spoken Track. It
allows you to highlight a text file selection then have that file turned into
an audio file that gets added to iTunes. If you want to control the speaking
rate, though, you'll need to have a string at the
