what error does it
George,
By the sound of it there’s something going on with the drive, not the OS. If
you can’t create a folder perhaps the drive is write-protected, so you can’t do
anything to change it, or in the wrong format.
Is this a new hard drive?
Best,
Zack.

Hello Sarah,
Normally speaking, you can export to DOCX or any other format and the endnotes
or footnotes will come out fine. There could be occasions when things go wrong,
but that’s always the case, isn’t it.
Cheers,
Anne

Hmm interesting. I have never had problems with the time machine backing up in
the 4 years since I've used it over a few drives. That does not mean though
they can't happen.
try reformatting the drive and try again and see if it happens. You might have
permission problems or something. Not
Yep. i had to redo my end notes actually but ah well. I'm on page 4 and that's
what counts. 26 more to go. I'm learning a lot by myself so hopefully won't be
a newcence as much anymore.
I like the fact that if you have it you can use endnote to make a bibliography
and have pages fill it in
Ok, do I reformat the drive, and erase all files on it? And what if it does
not
They told me it works on pc and mac
work?

George,
Just because a drive is supposed to work on “both PC and Mac,” doesn’t mean it
will help with Time Machine. Time Machine drives need to be specially formatted
for the Mac specifically. You go into DIsk Utility and choose to erase it,
reformat, and it should work.
Best,
Zack.

First erase the drive in Disk Utility. When you then use it for Time
Machine, it should automatically format it. However, understand that Time
Machine uses the GUID Partition scheme and Mac OS Extended Journaling as its
format. This is a Mac specific format and, thus, will not work in
Oh wow. I did not rtealise it uses the GUID partition. that means in theory
only mind you that it should be able to be made bootable, only in theory though
if I understand my partition tables correctly.
Take care and be blessed.

If it is a system disk, it will be bootable, yes. So, if there is a system
disk on a different partition on the drive.
