Can you perhaps contact the developers and see what they say? I don't think
that it can handle zips if I remember correct. They discuss such things on the
voice dream reader app thread on apple vis.

Hello all. When opening Bookshare books in voice dream reader go to the add
button and double tap it. Double tap where it says bookshare. Find the book you
want with the search field or however you like. Have it downloaded and when it
is done it will say so. You can then go back to the main

Not sure if it’s my scanner you’re thinking of, but I am using a Canon PIXMA
MX922 MFP. The hardware is not particularly blind-friendly, but the flatbed,
ADF duplex scanner functions have worked very well over WiFi with ABBYY
FineReader Pro under Mavericks.
