Hi, George. I had the same problem. The servers at Apple are
probably getting hammered with requests for updates. I turned off my
phone and turned it back on, like resetting the download.
I heard from another list that parts of the new iOS8 are buggy with
VoiceOver. If that's the case,
I'd update that wayyu can report bugs. plus the download will take 4 gigs, to
to install and 2 to hold the temp file so make sure you have at least 4 gigs
clear maybe 1 more for head room.

bug here, all the more reason not to upgrade. Never get 1.0 of anything, and

double tap and you will hear top of message or double tap again and you'll hear
bottom of message.
So, go into the message, double one finger tap, and you'll hear top of message.

therefore went in to the Apple store. I had been trying to update over the
air and I guess my broadband was not coping! It did OK on my iPhone in the

The bug has been reported. but one work around is to turn of and on quick nav
so I hear. You might have to do it a few times.
Btw this bug was around since beta 1 of the cycle and I did report it then.

Can someone please explain to me what this direct touch typing is? As far as
I can make out, it's not dissimilar to the standard typing where you need to
do a split tap or double tap on the letters to make them appear.
