I've had this happen. I don't remember how I solved it, but check the mailbox settings, and see if it has the various mailboxes setup to put things into. I did fix it, so it's something fixable from the mail app, because I don't remember having to do anything out of the ordinary to solve it.

Before I got responses to my message, I deleted and created the account again, but this time I changed from imap to pop3, and all is working. I don’t believe changing the delivery method has had anything to do with fixing this, but mention it just for purposes of clarity - Andy On 22 Mar
