the playlist (which should be column browser) to get to my music list and I
am told again that this is busy. This never happened in the previous
version.
You would have thought now that iTunes is 64 bit that it would run a bit
quicker?

You can find
there. This is similar to the behaviour of Safari on IOS devices.
Now to prevent this, you have two choices. You can disable this behaviour
globally in system preferences|General. Alternatively, you can exit the app
using CMD-Option-q.
