[Mac-access]: Need help using a Braille notetaker in terminal mode

Hi all - I’m trying to hook up a Braillesense Plus to both my iPhone 6 and my Mac, but getting nowhere. I select terminal mode from utilities, and then select USB port to connect it to the Mac. However, the display just shows the words terminal mode, which I think means it’s connected, but
