You can press right-option-t if you have turned the keyboard commander on. I
think you also have to have to box under general settings checked that says
allow voiceover to be controlled by apple scripts.

Hi Mike. I normally check time and date from the status bar as well. I got the
impression from David's message that he wanted a one keystroke approach for
doing this though. That is why I gave him the explanation about the voiceover
keyboard commander.
