I've actually noticed a difference in the way our 3rd generation iPad behaves,
as opposed to our first. We use a 7-port powered USB hug on our Mac, and we
never actually get an accurate reading of the battery status from iTunes of our
third generation iPad. However, it is actually
OK this is really really really strange. I have an IPad 3rd generation, and
I also have an IPad Mini. In both cases, If I plug them via USB to my
macbook which by the way is a 13 inch white mid 2010 model, no
customizations, it charges just fine. Also, if I plug it into my wall
transformer
It isn't always a matter of a bad USB port. The iPad requires substantially
more punch to charge than a phone or other standard usb charging device.
Unfortunately, people can have trouble charging from some computers.
