My brother is thinking of getting a Mac, and I suggested that I thought that
the Mac OS can be purchased and installed on a PC.
I don't know if this is still the case.
Does anyone know about this?

What you're proposing is what is called a hackintosh. They're apparently
difficult to get working on occasions, and of at least questionable legality. I
would go for the direct route and just buy a proper APple machine. That being

There's no legal installation on a PC, as far as I'm aware anyway. It probably
is possible if you're able and willing to do a lot of tinkering; but it's
definitely not supported by Apple and it's definitely not something we would
ever try.
