1Password seems to be a good commercial solution to do this, but I think I've
found a free and Opensource solution now that is also

Yeah, I've heard of that manager though never tried it.
I tried the Dashlane 1 Password Manager which was perfectly accessible for Mac,
its free unless you pay for the syncing across platforms so that may be another
alternative for those looking for a nice Password Manager and automation tool.
Because I'd like to be system indipentend and have my data accessible not only
on Mac or iOS which is IMHO the case with the iCloud password management
solution.

Whilst the new OSX may offer password management the tools that were mentioned
do offer quite a bit more, will be interesting to see the differences.
