As Ann described, double tapping in the middle of a page will bring up an icon
gear button that you can double tap. The Kobo settings menu should let you
access a page settings page where you can specify your reading preferences.

I've just looked at the Kobo settings and the heading you need to find is Page
transition style. Below this are several options and the one to select is
Scrolling.

THanks, sorted it now. My brother popped round to do something and did it for
me as he's sighted and was able to find the write setting. He told me how to
get it in the future though. Love the app and seems like there is a good choice
of books. I got a book i've been trying to get hold of for

You used to be able to buy books directly from the app, but that changed a
while ago, so now you have to buy them from the website.
