how does one use air drop?

I have not but someone gave me some instructions. 1. open air drop from the go menu. 2. start a new finder window with cmd n. 3. navigate to the file in the new window 4. mark the file for drag and drop 5. cycle to the air drop window and highlight the other computer. 6. press one of the drag
