ABBYY FineReader interprets one file at a time, so it will accept a file
containing multiple images from VueScan, just like ReadIris.
When I scan books, I scan a double page at a time and I found that ReadIris
could not get the pages in the right order, whereas ABBYY FineReader
Ok. I find that I get a lot of unrecognized characters with read iris.
Wondering if it's a setting or the OCR as a whole? Do you have that problem
with fine reader?

I always found that ReadIris did a worse job than ABBYY FineReader on the OCR.
A lot depends on the quality of the scan, but FineReader is often close to
perfect.
Did you get a copy of my set up guide for VueScan? If not, I'll send it to you.
It's important to get the settings
I found a guide but I'm not sure who wrote it. Wonder if I could get a refund
for my read iris purchase so I could grab fine reader?

Pages is not the app for reading PDF, you need to open them with Preview.
I'm curious as to why you create PDFs in the first place. It's the worst format
for reading on the Mac.
Also, why ReadIris? ABBYY FineReader is a much better OCR program.
