If the Time Machine backup is not encrypted, you should be able to migrate
your data as normal. At least, I'm pretty certain of that.

Makes sence. I thought a time machine back up does block by block so if your
drive is encripted thent he tm would logically if it does indeed do block by
block, sector by sector it must be, but hey I'm willing to learn from my error.

Hello to all. Let's ay hypothetically I reformat my hard drive and reinstall ml
from total scratch, on to a blank disk. I have file vault on my prior install
and have been using time machine to back up my stuff. The time machine disk is
not incripted.
Question. will I still be able to restore
