to know if just attaching the cable
would
work for you. I am not experiencing these problems.

I don't exactly have this issue but I am having another issue with my new mac
mini. I have my login options set to start VO automatically at the login
prompt and that part works fine. But after I complete login by entering my
password, I then have to turn VO back on with Command+F5 every
Hi Steve,
This may seem an odd question, but do you have a monitor connected to your mac
mini? I think I recall reading on this list that not having one can lead to a
number of strange preference-saving issues. Voiceover should indeed be turned
on automatically, as it does on my MBP.
Yours,
Interesting question. No, I do not have a monitor connected. I went the cheap
route here and chose to save $300 or so by not buying one. I wouldn't think
that should affect this but who knows. I think I will update the Apple tech
support staff that I don't have a monitor connected. I would
This is probably your issue than. I know Apple support will say you can run
a Mini without a monitor, but there have been several reports to the contrary,
including my own personal experience. You need to use a monitor or trick the
Mini into thinking it has a monitor connected.

That's interesting. I asked several people in the Apple stores this very
question and they probably thought it a crazy idea but once they realized I was
gonna use VO, they didn't think there would be any problem with that.
Any ideas on how to trick the mini into seeing a monitor?
On Jan 29,
You need a mini display port VGA adaptor sold by Apple and
a VGA to NTSC converter box. This one was recommended by Chris Blouch and has
worked perfectly for me.
